SGC Survey specializes in large scale linear energy infrastructure projects across the United States. We are seeking a dedicated Survey Technician to join our field survey crews. In this role you will support our projects by operating conventional surveying equipment and collecting accurate survey data that feeds the plans and reports we deliver to clients. This is an entry level position with room for growth; no prior experience is required.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Operate conventional surveying equipment, including total stations, levels and data collectors.
Execute specific field assignments using prescribed methods as requested by a Project Manager, Project Surveyor or senior Survey Technician.
Apply standard practices and techniques, collect data, keep proper notes, recognize discrepancies in results and follow operations through a series of related detailed steps.
Maintain organization and cleanliness of the survey equipment, the equipment room and all survey vehicles.
Notify the project supervisor of the status of supplies that may be running low.
Receive supervision on new aspects of assignments.
REQUIREMENTS
Entry level position; no prior experience required.
Valid driver's license required.
Must pass drug screening and a background check, including a seven year criminal history check and motor vehicle record check.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Travel requirement: 80 to 100 percent to field project sites.
Motor coordination with finger dexterity (keyboarding, instrument operation) most of the workday.
Physical effort in handling objects up to 50 pounds frequently.
Physical effort in navigating difficult terrain frequently.
